Entering life sciences consulting next year but have far less relative knowledge on the industry. What are the best books/resources to onboard myself?
Friendly late 20s woman fish here who hasn’t been feeling good enough to be in consulting or run a business. I don’t know what’s going on but even with all of my accomplishments I feel worthless. I’m in therapy so I’m sure there’s a rainbow somewhere but I’m wondering if anyone else has felt like this and what you’ve done to get past it? I’ve thought of reading more books on my craft and doing affirmations but I’m like internally smh at everything.
Notice there are so many people with debate experience in consulting. Kinda impressed. Any highly recommended books related to debate or communication in general?
What consulting books are good to read? Topics. How to climb the corporate ladder as fast as possible. Any other good consultant information.

Best books about management consulting?
I was asked by a friend for a few management consultant books (similar to liar's poker in the finance industry) to check out. The only one I can think of is Peter Drucker's Adventures of a Bystander (good but not too much consulting)... any suggestions! 😁
Inspired by one of my kids' favorite books, I penned this masterpiece of an Ode to Consulting: One senior partner all alone Calls two managing directors on the phone Three associate partners at the door Bring along another four Five senior managers come overdressed Six managers show up with a guest Seven senior consultants arrive in a sack Eight associates sneak in the back Nine analysts come to work ALL THE CONSULTANTS GO BERSERK!!! Ok, I'll show myself out now... 😂
What are your favorite books for consulting?
Hiya! I was wondering if anyone here has any good recommendations in terms of books or learning material that I can pick up to learn about sales and marketing relevant to the consulting industry?

Any good books/learning materials on how consulting/non-product firms acquire other firms? Struggling to find relevant info. “Talent-based acquisitions” seem to be all about hr/recruiting. What are alternative keywords I should use?
I recently got diagnosed with ADHD. I'm 31 and found this only because b school and post mba consulting job was/is much more challenging than anything I did before. What I'm confused about is that even as a teenager I could read entire books overnight. But the last two years of high school I started selectively zoning out and the problem has become worse since. I just realised it now. My doctor has suggested treating depression (I was also unaware of this) with Wellbutrin first (contd)
Former Deloitte folks - have you been able to get experience letters from Deloitte that are in line with what your new employer's immigration folks expect (to file a new PERM)? Thanks!

What’s the dumbest thing you ever charged a client for? Mine was when a client’s Chairman refused to read anything that wasn’t in Helvetica 12. So we had to reformat our presentation (cont’d)

Looking at 1400 hours year-end. I’ve consistently asked for work and recently let a couple partners know that’s it’s clear I won’t be making hours. Aside from the convo that I initiated, nobody has ever said anything to me about it, which is weird since they have access to hours. I’m sure it will be a topic at my review, but how likely that I’ll get fired during/shortly after my review?

Help! Applying to a job and one of the only real requirement is to show how I’m “adept at understanding client needs, and designing and implementing creative solutions”. My issue is I work in risk advisory and most of our client engagements don’t actually involve implementation. We usually present our findings and recommendations and move on. What’s the best way I can tackle this? I’m coming up blank and the deadline is soon.
All things equal - would you take 150 base and 300-400+ OTE to work remote for a Series C tech firm out of NYC? Or 120 base and 275 OTE to work for a Series B out of Scottsdale? Good problem to have - I know. I am from the south and have never worked in NYC, wondering if I’ll regret it even if the $$$ is better.
Worth going from MBB to LMM PE? 2 years post undergrad. Is LMM money even equal to consulting?
