Rising Star
Go to tech. High margins, good pay, fantastic benefits, equity upside.
Biotech is a crapshoot bc a product can hit or not, so equity is less of a sure thing.
If you live somewhere where there isn't a lot of tech, go to a company in an industry where you can have some mobility in the future in your city, so there's not just one game in town.
The answer to all life’s dilemmas on this app seems to be scoring a job with a large tech company.
I think industry matters a lot. You don’t want to go in house somewhere where you don’t find what the company does actually somewhat interesting. Depending on the role you may become part of various business or deal teams and you’ll never add real value if you aren’t motivated to learn about the underlying business you are serving…
Are there any industries that interest you (including tech or otherwise?)
In-house roles can be very “niche”. Once you start in one industry other recruiters will see you as a fit for that industry. Unless you will be very general. So, pick an industry from the start that you want to stick to with lots of upside. Don’t pick a “dinosaur” industry on its way out. Tech is hot right now and will likely stay that way. Finance is also a good sector.
