Question for for all those in Management Consulting. How do I become better at strategic thinking ? What else can I be doing ? Here's what I have been doing 1. Reading books - the usual ones that come up on Google search 2. Reading past annual reports/investor reports to see how strategy played out
Hi all, I’m looking for ways to develop myself professionally. I would love recommendations or tips on how you continue education in your field to stay relevant and continue to learn about different marketing strategies. Any tips on really good conferences, programs, classes, books, would be so so appreciated. I’m currently a senior manager for local marketing activations on a planned path to become a director. Thank you!
What are the best books/blogs/online resources to boost your organizational change management skills?
I will be in SF next week to present my book “Agencies & Brands in the Experience Economy..” I’d love to connect with people from the area. RSVP and details here https://www.eventbrite.com/e/book-presentation-agencies-brands-in-the-experience-economy-management-organization-tickets-57295348931?ref=eios
What are some books that have absolutely helped you either working in the investment management space or even just personal investing?
Looking for recommendations to generally upskill my Strategy work (or learn from scratch) — be it courses, classes, books, podcasts, people to follow. For context, I’m a freelance Social Media Manager/Strategist and I came into Ad world via Startups. Throwing myself into learning on the job with more Strategy gigs - but I still don’t feel like I quite know the lingo or best practices or theories.
My teammate is leaving for a new opportunity soon and I will be floating by myself for a few months. Would anyone be able to provide me with any solid books that pertain to our field? I'm open to anything for creative, people manager 101, digital marketing, career motivating, etc. Trying to swim along to find my new normal and be self motivated.
I specialize in nonprofit tax and I’m trying to increase my knowledge in my complex or unusual nonprofits tax issues since I don’t get the exposure that much at work (international activities, private benefit, UBI, etc.). Does anyone have any books or CPEs that they recommend? Or courses that they took that went into detail on this? Most of what I find is more about NFP management skills then the more technical side of it.
Any good books or articles worth reading on product marketing and analytics? I come from more of a technical and general product management background, so I personally feel like I lack on the marketing side. Like Search engine optimization, etc. Thank you.
I am a social person outside of work but my job role has always been technical. I am trying to prepare myself for a management role (either in my current job or through a career change) but have no prior experience managing. Does anyone have tips for preparing for such a transition (books to read, ways to get prior experience, a mindset to embrace)? I have previously been told I'm a different person at the office as i am out socially, which is why I am concerned about the transition
I am studying for MBA and need 3 books. They are very expensive to buy, so I am wondering if any of you have access to a soft copy that you can share. > Management Research: Applying the Principles by Susan Rose, Nigel Spinks > Research Methods for Business and Management by Kevin O'Gorman, Robert MacIntosh > Theory and Practice of Leadership by Roger Gill
I’m gearing up for my first hire/direct report. Which management/leadership books would folks recommend reading for inspiration, food for thought?
Cisco Pros: - fairly decent place to work (from someone who worked with the Vancouver and San Jose offices). never met a blue badger (permanent employee) who had awful things to say. - Ashley Goodall (their SVP, Methods & Intelligence) co-authored a brilliant book on leadership and people management called “Nine Lies About Work” that makes me believe they can be an awesome place to work Cons: - red badgers had low morale since they’re contract workers and can be terminated at any time
What are you reading currently, that's related to Product Management. Any book or article? I'm currently reading Measure What Matters.
Looking for newer books on management consulting industry/concepts; other than the oft-mentioned, older Lords of Strategy (2010), The McKinsey Way (1999), or The Trusted Advisor (2001). Thank you!
How to ask a startup to share their books with you. Being courted for Manager of S&O role, but don't want to be walking into a sinking ship.
What are some good books you would recommend for someone with an accounting background exploring a move to management consulting and strategy? No MBA.

I am currently a team lead, Operations Analyst III and believe I am severely underpaid. I have 10 years experience, 6 years specific to my department and work within the Chicago market. What should the expected salary range be?
If I roll over an old employer 401k to a Vanguard IRA, can I then roll that over to a brokerage account in order to have access to margin? I’m aware of the risks of margin, just a hypothetical question. TIA!
Hi 🐠 I’m incorporating my business on January 1 and I am trying to decide whether to go with a law firm, stripe atlas, or Harvard business services. Besides cost, any advice on which one to choose? Also, anything you wish you did before incorporating your business (e.g. set up virtual address is one I’ve heard)?
Hey all! Would REALLY appreciate your help filling out this survey for my start up. You will also have a chance to win 300$ credit to upgrade your home office!
Anyone at Netflix wants to share how they feel about their RSU losing tons of value 😬 Is the company doing anything about it?

Real Talk - if your district / state doesn't have adequate safety standards in place by the start of school, will you strike? I am a 100% YES.
Just listened to this podcast episode this morning. Here they address a Christian's responsibility to speak truth clearly devoid of nuance. Our current culture is calling us to compromise on a lot of issues we are simply not allowed to as followers of Jesus. How can we be faithful to our calling in a world that is so readily offended? Marriott randomly deposited close to 1 million points into my account. Did this happen to anyone else? Any chance they will not recognize the glitch? I went ahead and booked a trip on points fully expecting them to remove the points and cancel the reservation by the end of the day

What equity packages do Unicorns offer? (unicorn status gained in 2021, insurtech) The position is in partnerships ( non-eng), and I have total 11 YOE. I have no experience with negotiating equity packages, and wouldn't know what type of offer is common. Thanks!
