Advice needed: how do I tell my boss my team sucks? I switched jobs about 4 months ago and while I like my new clients and my manager, our team is the most unprofessional, unreliable, & incapable group of people I’ve ever worked with. They require constant micromanaging & there’s been times when I’ve had to do some of their tasks for them to avoid missing deadlines. I hate when you ask senior associates a question regarding an assignment they’ve assigned and you receive attitude-reply to the email vaguely without even addressing the email (example: “just complete the assigned, don’t worry about that”). Especially when the question/issue being ask is an important part of the assignment. It almost feels like I’m a bother for asking even though the associate(when assigning) said “feel free to ask any questions you may have while working on the assigned tasks”

I’ve been working with a founder/small biz freelancing as their digital producer for a little bit. I’m having issues lately because they won’t give me a budget for content they want to make for their site/Instagram. I’m worried with the budget gate keeping that we’re going to burn bridges with contacts, especially now that we’re dipping into my personal contacts for content collaboration. Is this normal? How do I get them to give me a budget to work from?

Are there any hours at which it’s unacceptable or unprofessional to send work emails? 2am email exchanges were the norm at my last firm, but I don’t want to annoy my new colleagues at my new firm. I don’t expect anybody to respond that late - I just get a lot done at night. 🦉

I’m have a new theory about why juniors always feel like idiots and wanted to see if anyone else thinks this makes sense. I’m a third year, and am the most junior person all of my teams (generally me, a senior or two, and a partner or two), and I always feel like I’m messing something up. Is this just because I never get to work with other juniors and don’t see the mistakes they make, and that it’s relatively normal? And FWIW I went to HYS and I’ve had a clerkship so it’s not like I’m not smart

I'm a cashier. We just got a new manager, and she's making things really hard for us. She starts work at 4:30am and leaves around 2:30pm, but she still expects us to stay until 6pm and work on the weekends! She gives us really long shifts and doesn't give us much time for breaks. And when we ask her about it, she gets mad.
