Modesty in advertising is not a virtue
Spark foundry is right. You gotta toot your own horn. Brag about your accomplishments. The people that steal credit . . .it does not “catch up with them”. They continue to rise and rise and rise while the quiet whither away. So stake a claim. Take back the throne young khalesee . . .or John Snow. Whatever. . .
Ignore it. Eventually the stink catches up with them
The cream will rise.
It’s tough, i feel you!
I make sure I have one to one convos with anyone who matters to share stories about how I came up with/did whatever. But it has to come naturally in the conversation and not be the whole point. It’s like a catch up and “btw “you know what really inspired the idea was ____” Tbh it’s not always as subtle as I would like it to be, but I’d rather have that than people not know my role in it... it’s worked out where people have then shared it with their peers, so I’m glad I did it.
Goes without saying but never throw brown nosers under the bus because people will just think you’re jealous. I always highlight their contributions, like “s/he was really good at ______” so you also make people understand what they did and did not do, while remaining a team player.
