Got a verbal offer for an industrial engineering position with Tesla and the salary was lower than I expected with a base of $85k + some equity. I have an engineering master’s degree and my experience is uniquely perfect for the role. I countered with $95k which was honestly the lowest I’d initially told myself I’d accept for a position regardless. Am I being unreasonable? Just felt low.

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

I’ve got 8 years experience, work at a small, hot creative agency in NYC and will be promoted to CD soon. I have observed that people on testing domain or frontend are getting better pay than other new tech domains like blockchain, cyber security, data sci etc(4-11yr exp) .
For less than 4 years experience new tech job gettig good pay but others getting very less.

In dev job Java, spring r etc getting better pay. Also some SAP consultant are also get paid high.

Little context: I was an ED student, full time paralegal/clerk throughout my law school experience, and a single mother. I did not take advantage of the law school extracurriculars and missed out on clerk application deadlines my final year (2020).
