What's your date of Jalsa??
Hi Fishes
I would like to know about the client interviews (especially in data science or machine learning roles).
Are these interviews tough?
Are these interviews meant to assess technical knowledge? For example, what is binomial distribution, what are different data structures in python, ml algorithms etc.
I would request each of the nagarrians to share their thoughts irrespective of the technologies you are working.
I am thankful to you for taking time and helping me out.

Is that 4.5 yoe without an mba? If so, then think it’s pretty decent.
If you have 7-9 yoe plus mba then probably too low.
If this is a startup I would value the equity at 0 unless you think you can sell your private shares to someone else. You’re essentially looking at 180k base which is pretty decent for almost 5 years of experience.
Yeah they plan to IPO in like 3-4 years so not very liquid at the moment. Thanks for the contribution!
Is this director level? 185 is a lot for a non tech role at a startup. You also have a ton of equity off the bat which is great. what’s the valuation?
Fwiw, I have 3.5 YOE, 130k in strategy role, $80k equity at series d 850m startup
If the startup is interesting and growing fast with a lot of funding, I’d go for it
180k cash is high for a non-tech role at a startup with <4.5yoe. I say it’s a good offer.
It’s undergrad + masters (Typical European cursus) then 3.5 years at McK and 1 year in tech.
What’s your comp at McKinsey? Or what was it
My comp at McK was about $200K but that’s all ca$h.
It depends (there, I said it). No but seriously I have had very sustainable projects and horrible projects (depends on many factors). As solutions specialists you should have a better lifestyle.
What’s the target bonus?
Honestly comp sounds a little weak... unless you are getting counseled out I’d pass if you aren’t in love with the role / company
Assuming .35% equity based on the valuation you quoted, sounds pretty fair for a startup with series C funding.
