What salary should I expect as a tax technology consultant entry level at Deloitte? — CSG group —
I know salaries are based on work location. I need some guidance please. I will add that I have one year experience as a former tax associate at PwC and I completed my Master two months ago. No CPA yet. Deloitte

How’s the match making going? 😁
Thank you all for your patience. I do appreciate it. It turns out having a side project while running multiple proposals is a trifle challenging. That said. I’m posting a first subset of the rawish data. In all close to 500 people took the survey, but a majority were from the Big Four. Here is the data from Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and PWC. Insights to come! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1lN6JrxQfvA_MC4XFZ38G0ppQkBuxRv9mf88Y8NE2X2U/htmlview
Thank you all!

Amazon folks - need to reschedule an inteview due to an unforeseen work commitment. Wondering if it's going to look bad/impact the interviewing chances if I were to ask for a reschedule? It's taken months of applying to get one so don't want to jeopardize but the current job committment is going to be difficult to get out of (unless I call in sick). Recommendations?
Unpopular(?) opinion - I like consulting a lot

The benefit that no one is talking about is that there is a chance of not having to stay for longer than 6 months

Do not do it. Not only is it an explicit hire and fire, but L.E.K. will make you do the lowest level grunt work for those 6 months and then fire you. As in, you will be LinkedIn messaging hundreds of random people to set up expert interviews because we’re too cheap to rely on expert networks. As in, you will be sent many slides with nothing but the most basic cosmetic edits for you to do (eg, finding logos for table sides) while the content has already been filled in by more senior people. As in, you will not touch a single model in those six months. You will not get (m)any marketable skills, and very few people outside of the consulting world have even heard of L.E.K., so the exits will not be good.
I personally think this program is a new low for L.E.K., and I advise everyone who is offered a position in it to run, not walk away.

Why don’t you offshore the expert interviewer sourcing roles? Why pay an undergrad $100K to do this transactional work?
To give context, we’re staffing external consultants on cases to address capacity issue. This pilot program seems like a similar strategy to temporarily fill in gaps. Probably more economical since we already spent time/$ interviewing
Depends what you’re hiring external for. External people can be great SMEs but if you need people to make nice slides/run particular models/do grunt work external hires surprisingly mess those up a lot in their first months (depending on where they hire from of course)
Knowing LEK workloads there’s no way you could physically pull this off without a time machine/no need for sleep
Dont take it. If they cant come to value you now you should do the same. UNLESS you really want to go for experience, money and use the profile build up to interview.
Lol
Given the amount of people at LEK advising not to do it, why on earth would you do it? I can’t imagine leaving full time work for a temp to hire position. Madness.
If you are lateraling at as an a analyst/consultant six months may be enough to prove competency, but at manager and above you need more than six months to develop the network that makes you effective at those levels
Wtf?? Is this a new thing now?
How much they paying ??
Lol wild
What's the pay? If it's comparable to a 1099 gig it may be compelling
For context, I’m at a boutique now so this would be a step up
LEK15, ah okay. I had interviewed but was rejected. I was curious about my interview performance as I thought I had performed decently, guess not
Agreed, it’s a risk joining, but presuming you perform well, I think you will be able to stick around. Mainly saying this because people are leaving the firm left and right so they will need you lol
