I stayed with us despite a higher offer and took the counter. We only match up for the people worth keeping. If you’re happy here, you won’t regret staying.
Same experience. Spot on take.
Don’t take it but well done on the negotiation! You deserve a bump for exploring the market and knowing your worth.

I wouldn’t.
I don’t care that everyone says “don’t take a counter”
1. This is a down level (Accenture C = Deloitte SC)
2. Worse 401k match, so now you’re basically at the same TC
3. Rebuilding network
4. You don’t know if you’ll like it
I’ll stay in this situation
Chief
SC1, ACN strategy C’s can go up to that..
Not worth the headache and risk of not being happy imo, if I were you I would stick with Accenture. Trust me, an extra 10K a year is not worth that risk
$115k raise? Like $100->$215?!
Either a plzfix for OP or I need to reevaluate my employment
Deloitte C is a demotion. SC is their post mba. All else equal, delta in $ is too small for rebuilding and 401k match.
Different story if Deloitte does something additional to your career
10k is not a lot after taxes anyways. In the grand scheme of things, your network should be worth more from a long term perspective.
Think about why are only willing to give you a raise now and not before. Take the D offer + all SA1 comments above
Same. Worked at both. Unless you aspire to an old school corporate feel, stay at Accenture. I almost boomeranged back to D but ACC countered and I’m so glad I accepted it.
Dont leave us 🥲
Ain't nothing but a heartache
Don’t leave. If you like doing tech work then ACN is the better place. Also, between ESPP and 401K match ACN is also higher compensation. I say all this as a former ACN employee!!
Turn down D. Accenture offer is much better .
$100K+ raise? Firstly, way to go OP! Second, what do you do? Not doubting you, but that is a staggering raise at your level. Legitimately curious to see what I can do on my end.
It’s probably raise to 115k.
Anyone telling you to leave is a moron. You’re happy and the total comp is about the same given 401k match. Why would you leave to an unknown when you are happy here and make almost exactly the same amount?
Why you start looking if you loved ACN, now you will be branded as unloyal, and probably will be on the short list for year end.
Don’t do it, got an offer from D 2 years ago to join as a C. Was already C at Accenture asked for SC or 15k more they said no. The MD in the interview even joked that well why wouldn’t you want to join D, you’re at Accenture so you get it. Never thought twice about turning down that “offer”
OP, you've just inspired me to get another Deloitte offer ✨
Curious, what is your practice where we’re countering with $115k raise? At C that has to be close to or (more likely over) double what you’re making now…
If you consider 401k, it is $7k and Espp of addl 2k. Totalling to 9k.
Real increment is 1k which is around $50/month after taxes.
Choose wisely.
No company loves you, and neither should you. You should probably love you work. On the other end make sure you get paid accordingly. You are not here to do charity and neither is any company is giving you free money
Reading the notes posted it does look like a down grade in level. It is a crazy market out there with people throwing money around to get you to join at the expense off your career.Be smart…
