Some Business Intelligence/Analyst roles are very data heavy. I wonder why these roles do not have the term “data” in them, and wonder if it’s to keep the salary lower than it should be. I have colleagues doing intense data science tasks as BI Analysts, and can’t help but feel indignant on their behalf because when hearing their job title, one would underestimate their technical ability.

Have a big interview tomorrow. The question I dread the most is about why you’re looking for a new job. Is it crazy to leave my job at EY to take a lower paying position in industry? I'm a recently promoted tax manager making about 140k. I've been considering going to industry for a while, gotten a couple offers, but they're all pretty low (<$120k). Honestly, the $20k difference isn't that much, but I've also been considering taking job that pay maybe $90k and doing work on the side (my own "firm"). But it also feels strange to accept such a lower salary. Thoughts?
