Consider yourself lucky. My bonuses are terrible 3 years in so I'm aggressively job searching
It's so firm and situation dependent. There's never any harm asking how bonuses are calculated, which may give you some ideas for next year. Sometimes it's also purely a financial issue. I was at a firm that brought in a large practice group of 6 attorneys one year. Because no billing was coming in from their addition for a few months and they were receiving wages ahead of bill payments it took about 2 years for everyone's bonus to catch up.
That is to say, ask. If the structure improves as you keep going or it was a year where bonuses were down, take that onto account before job hopping. Also never count on your bonus. Assume $0.00 in all financial planning and you'll be better off
