I have recently joined EY SaT group as senior consultant recently in Netherlands. I’m tripple masters in MS economics, MBA and MS business analytics. Have 4 YOE in different industries but no M&A experience specifically. Any ideas what company should be offering me? I’ll be working as expert on commercial due diligence, FDD and valuation teams and doing automation alongside. is it wise to demand higher salary or promotion soon after I have proven that I can work and do it better than most?EY
Any news about promotions any deadline?

I honestly feel like I could complete this in 30m.
I just created an Excel based analytics test to hire for a role. It wasn’t testing Excel, but I think my point here will apply. These tests have to be hard enough to have some real variance in assessment between candidates. If it’s easy, then it’s hard to tell just how skilled people are. If designed well, and sufficiently challenging, you can get better data to compare across candidates.
The question is whether they look at cleanliness and that it's well structured, or at the correct answer. It's a bit like a coding test in that sense.
I think I could do it in 30 min if I wasn’t worried about making it super pretty and user- friendly. I have some free time next week, I might give it a shot. Do you suppose questions b-d are asking for the average value?
Forgot your second question. I have used excel tests to evaluate candidates for a consulting role. I allowed more time, I think 90 minutes, and I explicitly stated that I wanted a “client-ready deliverable”, with documentation and formatting. So I looked at that as much as whether they got the correct answer. In this case, given the short time period, I’d be looking at the problem-solving process the applicant used. How did they structure their solution and what steps did they take to get there? I’d be lenient on “the right answer” and formatting simply because of the time constraints.
They lose all their customers every year? 😁
