Totally understand, life and work happen and I reschedule with them for 4/24. 15 minutes before the call I do my normal check to make sure the Zoom link is good and my camera and audio are functioning correctly and as a result I come to find the meeting ID is invalid. No problem, technology happens and I email Vanessa to let her know we need a new bridge. As the time gets closer to the meeting I email her again to let her know the bridge is not working. No response. 5 minutes after the meeting is scheduled I email again to let her know I have blocked this time off and if she would like to send a new link I can join in the timeframe. No response. At the end of the allotted time I send her another email letting her know I am sorry we weren’t able to connect and if she would like to reschedule please let me know. No response. At the end of the day yesterday I receive an email from her letting me know that they will not be moving forward with my application and thank you and if I would like to apply for another position I can. To be clear I do not expect every application to become an interview and every interview to become a career. What bothers me about this is the lack of respect for another persons time to reschedule an intro call and then ghost them and then not allow them to even get the intro call which they had initiated and agreed to. I am sure there could have been a myriad of reasons beyond Vanessa’s control however this was an extremely poor experience for a company that seems to have some great potential.
Recruiters don’t care! Your just a number to them!
That’s unfortunate. I’m sure during their interview process if any potential candidates showed up late they’d think they’re unprofessional, have a lack of respect for them, the process or their time but here they are doing the same thing.
It’s awesome that you were understanding when things didn’t work and continued to find a way to make it work.
At end of the day, I’d take this as a sign. If they can’t even properly handle the interview process or respect your time then I doubt they’d be any better as an employer.
Keep keeping on. You’ll land where you’re supposed to be.
