I know a Vet that got prescribed Ozempic as part of a way to help alleviate a service connected disability. I.e weight loss would help alleviate back problems. It was fully covered but they had to be enrolled in the VA weight loss program
Do you know if they had to be in the weight loss program for a certain amount of time before they got could get Ozempic covered?
Im currently in the process of trying. I don’t think they’ll cover, but if I can get more info from my Dr on what the VA does cover I’ll report back. I’ll be talking with my PCM this upcoming week
Yes, they prescribe. Right now there's a shortage and only current users will receive. That's the message received in February. I work at the VA as well as receive my treatment
The VA will cover it, but you have to have a referral to endocrinology AND be enrolled in the Move program.
I think they want you to go to 12 sessions, which is 3 months
You must be enrolled in the VA's MOVE program first.
Lord knows I could use it. I’m something like 360lbs now and hurt all the time. My primary is all about a meat based diet. I.e Keto/Carnivore.
