A lot of states passed statutes granting immunity to tortfeasors for covid exposure/mistreatment under most circumstances, be sure to check your state isn’t one of them!

like

Some states have held that a heightened gross negligence pleading standard that is normally applied to first responders/ ERs applies if the beach of SOC occurred during the period of an emergency executive order issued by the governor

like

Defendants are liking using Covid as a causation excuse in many infectious disease cases.

smart

Also look at the prep act
May provide complete immunity

Not in NY. Has to be gross negligence or intentional

I was recently (in April) fired from a good nursing position that I was at for 5 years. I reached out to my old ADON to get some information on where we had our vaccinations from and she told me that I should come back and the administrator that I had issues with is gone. Is this something I should even consider? I miss my patients and some of my coworkers and the pay is better, but I don't feel like I would really be welcome to come back.

I’ve received several take home assignments that clearly use real company data or give a good indication to a company’s future strategy. If I wanted to be petty, assuming I haven’t signed any NDA or fine print promising secrecy, could I share this information publicly without facing legal repercussions?

Obviously I know it’s ill advised and this is purely hypothetical, but just from a legal standpoint, would I get in trouble? Seems like an obvious way to get back at a company.

I received a job offer from a PI firm (MVA and tractor trailer cases) in Houston, Texas; the bonus proposed was 2.5% of attorney’s fees for any cases settled each quarter. We are assigned 50 cases a quarter and the top attorney clears $25K each quarter. This is my first time working at a PI firm. Can anyone share any guidance? Is 2.5% industry standard? Is it realistic to settle/resolve that many cases? I am trying to learn more about this niche before I counter-offer and attempt to negotiate.
