I recently accepted a position with a new org. One of the benefits I asked about with offer was the parental leave policy and was told (in writing by HR) 16 weeks paid after 1 year, which is as good as you can hope for in US. Now I’ve been sent the employee handbook to review/sign and it says only 12 weeks, which is less than the org I’m leaving. What might my recourses be to negotiate 16 weeks when the time comes? Also, should I be viewing this is a red flag?

Advice: my firm incentivized associates to get licensed in fed courts - 4 fed courts for a 5k raise. They also covered the admission fee. I just accepted an offer with another firm and will be putting in my 2 weeks notice tomorrow. Is it wrong to submit an expense report for the charges I incurred related to the fed court admission fees? Happened to me with Mindtree recruiter, for an IoT leadership position where the interviewing VP chose to no show twice… after which I thanked the recruiter that I was impressed by their book of busi-ness and that it was intimidating to be thinking about the prospect of working for Mindtree… as I’m too incapable for those performance standards… 😂😂
