I've done so well in this new role within the company that they are hiring another person to assist with what I do. I've voiced to my boss that I'd like to manage this department and they indicated that this is the thought for the future. Now they are asking me to train this person while I have my plate full. Note taking is not something I was ever particularly good at. Shorthand, symbols, abbreviations, multiple colors - they're all things I use haphazardly, and without consistency.

I think I really could benefit from stepping up my note taking game.

Anyone else spend time intentionally building this skill? Any good resources that helped you becoming a better note taker?

Writing annual goals. What are examples of how to write “quantifiable” goals as a consultant? Are you measuring number of relationships built, projects, or something else?

Most of consulting is advising on solutions to problems, but I don’t control the outcome, whether the advice is implemented, or the budget. Sales is easy (e.g. “sell $2M of products/services this year”) because there is a clearly defined measurement. What can consultants measure?

Anybody hiring for data analytics positions? I just need a first round interview. I am a decent candidate, my last 5 interviews were EY, McK, EY, McK and GS (last round, 1st round, last round, 2nd round, 1st round). I have 10 months of experience and graduated with majors in cs and bus. I interned once at a big 4 acc firm and once as a software engineer.
1 caveat: I am an F1 student on OPT.

Why has real estate remained lucrative?
Mainly agents but also developers.

The barrier to entry is low, not even sure if graduating high school is needed. My old agent even said she did it bc she can make a lot money and not work that much. She drove a new Mercedes and sent her kids to private school, husband was also an agent.

So I’m curious why it didn’t get flooded and the profit margin dampened to a $/hr closer to other jobs with similarly easy entry?

Having a hard time deciding between two offers. Pay is very similar in both roles.

Pro: Tech focused & brand
Con: hard progress in tech, hikes are not great
Firm: Deloitte Cloud Architect (GCP)
Level: Manager
Location: Uk
Service line: Consulting (Cloud Strategy & Engineering)
Pro: progression & growth, new growing gcp practice
Con: less tech focused

What would be suggested for long-term growth? Doing growth-related data science at a private equity firm or a role as a monetization pm in a FANG-related company? What are possible growth areas after the job at a PE firm? I'm concerned that a career in PM would plateau.
