Seeking career advice! Hi all, I'm a consultant working in the development sector looking for a career switch. I've done my PG in Entrepreneurship from TISS, Mumbai. I have 3 yrs of exp in fin modeling, business modeling, micro-enterprise development, pitch/project design etc. Despite some major achievements & contributions growth is almost non-existent & frustrating. Any guidance or referrals to get into strategy/management consulting/govt advisory roles in big 4 etc will of great help!

I was placed on a PIP due to a project where the client didn’t like our work and from there I crushed the PIP and got off of it with no issues. Unfortunately, I was told my work was great and people gave great feedback but I still was placed on it anyway. I was terminated luckily with a 45 day severance package and honestly grateful to have finally been out of there and to a firm I like.

This is so random, but I’ve been asking everyone! Is anyone really well versed in books that could MAYBE be able to identify a book title/author based on a (probably vague) description? A random stranger on who sat next to me on my plane was telling me about the book she was reading and it sounded so interesting and i wrote down the name and author on the plane, lost the slip of paper, and now totally forget both the title and author. I’m so sad!

I'm conflicted and I honestly feel defeated. I started this job at a good foot, I negotiated the salary I wanted, which was of the higher tier. I killed it by being in the top 6 performers of my sales class. A year into the job, I get my first promotion by hitting my numbers. Felt proud of myself for a moment. Then I get an email saying I'll still get the promotion. But due to my higher starting salary (5k over the average) I won't get the pay raise of 3k. Is this right? "Here's your pizza!"

My family has a 115 year old agency. I've been working there for 15 years as a work from home processor. The agency hasn't been managed and things are in dire straights. They lost their office manager 10 years ago, Commercial CSR 5 years ago, Personal Lines CSR 3 years ago, and an agent 3 years ago (all to retirement) and roles were never replaced. It's a mess. They are asking me if I'd like to take it over. I'm so burnt out from the workload and low pay. Is it worth it to try and save it?

Our CSM department is going through a major restructure right now. There has been a huge amount of turn over since the beginning of the year. Our managers have not given us any insight to what the new restructure will look like, they have also pushed out our annual raise conversations until the end of April. A lot of CSMs are leaving the company and it has me thinking maybe I should entertain other opportunities elsewhere as well. Has anyone else had an experience like this?
