Interviewed for the Finance Ops position, a year ago. 5 total rounds. Final round was a total mind f*ck. 3 separate panel interviews at Mountain View. During each interview, there's random objects on the table, (coffee mug, paper clips, computer mouse, etc) none of which were relevant to the freaking interview. They were there to distract me. One person ask case questions while the other stared at me like I'm on trial. Midway thru the last interview, a 3rd person walks in wearing Google Glass, takes notes and walks the f*ck out. The other interviewers pretended as if they never saw him, but I saw him. I'm not crazy.
Yea I interviewed for an M&A PM role, hard ass interview. 7 rounds, and go from easy PM situational questions to in depth coding
I interviewed for a sales operations analyst role (essentially an internal consultant they said) and from all of my friends that work at Google was under the impression that a lot of the second round would be to determine a fit aka"googleyness"..... Nope, got none of that, could barely understand the manager interviewing me and he went straight in to case type question I.e what is your favorite restaurant, how would you increase their profit by analyzing their menu? You want to open up a coffee shop in a local college town, explain to me youre strategy do so and how would you separate yourself from the Starbucks of the world? Personally I wasn't a fan of the experience given That I was excited about their emphasis on being a cultural fit and felt like I could genuinely prove that fit especially after talking with a handful of current Google employees
My favorite google products: Google+ and Google Glasses
Yes. It's annoying. Manhole covers - why round? How many ping pong balls in this office type questions. They want to see how you think.
Interviewed for a product manager role and they asked me about my fave google product and what id do to improve it .
How many people use Google around the world? And the other one I got was if all methods of transportation were removed, in San Francisco, except for public buses. How many public buses would we need to get everyone to and from work on time everyday
Oh god doesn't sound worth it to me
Thanks, could you give an example or two of the harder questions you got that didn't involve coding?
I interviewed there last month for a strategy role. Final round interview is tough. I would focus on doing general case prep.
I interviewed and received the offer for PM. It was mostly case based situational stuff, nothing too far out if you know basic frameworks and thought patterns. Final round had math based questions in a group setting. IMO - offer wasn't good enough to move to SF
@d1 what is your fav google product? I feel like it kinda has to be youtube doesnt it?
