Has anyone left financial services from the investment industry (discount brokerage firms) for HR, PM, or Recruiting? I feel like if you don’t want to become a FA or build a book of business you’re limited in the investments industry to case management and admin work but the pay is pretty low. Alternatively, has anyone had success leaving strictly service roles in finance and going on to banking, investment banking, or insurance without having to start all over in a corporate training program?

Anyone taken CISA? I've heard it was super hard from some people and heard it was a joke by others. Thoughts?

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

Most woman with excellent WOE don’t negotiate their pay.. I’m a woman working in Tech and this is so sad to know..

Lately, I've been hearing a lot from my peers about how sales isn't a real profession.
I work at a tech startup and it mostly comprises developers. They can't stop emphasizing their importance in the food chain and I can't figure if I'm too humble or they're too arrogant.

Pros to EJ: Have my own office, a year or two away from partnership, great office setting and client satisfaction.
