Has anyone successfully asked an employer to pay (full) tuition for an advanced degree? If so, how did you go about doing so? My employer (small company) has an annual budget for each employee to use towards tuition, but I am hoping to get full tuition covered. This is also more important to me than a raise, which I am willing to forgo annually to make this work. I know this may be out of the norm/uncommon, but I wanted to ask.

Is there a ceiling in BD&L work both in consulting and in industry for those who didn’t do a PhD or MD? I feel like most of the individuals I see in these roles at senior levels have one or both degrees. Am I “wasting” time taking projects in these spaces if I only plan on getting an MBA?

Does where you get your masters degree matter? I’m in an online environmental science masters program at an expensive “name-brand” school, but have colleagues telling me I should transfer to a less expensive program to save $ because no one cares about where your degree is from. Aside from the cost of it, I like my program, and the fact that I’m now connected to an incredible alumni network. And not gonna lie, I like the clout. Thoughts?

My boyfriend and I make 200K combined and live in NJ. We have $1000 in monthly car payments combined. That’s all we owe. Our credit scores are in the 800s. We have 50K to put down on a home.
