Has anyone worked on a outsourced GC model. Where for a monthly payment you do effectively unlimited work for them? I hate billable hours and prefer fixed monthly retainers.

I am a 30M I currently worked my way up to managing 30 trucks and an average revenue stream for said trucks of 2.4 mil I believe I am being underpaid since the relocated to Sacramento for the job for 72k per year plus a mostly unattainable bonus of 26k per year ( highly depends on the driver and company as a whole) Am I wrong to believe I’m underpaid for the time put in on call 24/7

I have 15+ years of US and international healthcare YOE (clinical ops, mgmt, prod imp, apms), 10+ of which have been in non-trad consulting roles. I don’t have a masters but am applying now. I’ve been contracting on a number of fed projects for BAH with VA, HHS, etc for 5 years as SME/imp spec.
I’ve was offered a fed healthcare ops specialist role at boozallen at associate level $140K. I was originally told that the role was a lead. Growth and title are imp. to me. Is this salary low?

Everyday I can’t seem to hit the required billable hours. I’m overwhelmed by emails and people asking me where an item is. I feel like I’m not good enough. I keep making mistakes I shouldn’t make at my level. I wish I could just quit so I wouldn’t have to be miserable everyday.

Our firm is establishing our target billable %'s at a small public accounting firm. Is there a website that gives target billable time % by staff level for the tax and accounting industry? Just started poking around the AICPA website, but would appreciate being able to save some time looking for it. I'm used to a lower % rate than what's being proposed (70% vs 85%) and don't want to cause undue pressure on staff, but do want to give a reasonable billable hours expectation going forward.

I'm a PA in the PNW working for a private group staffing ED's in several hospitals. Recently the group has asked the PA's to take on a couple new roles (triaging and rapid track from triage i.e. straightforward ESI 4, 5). With these changes the PA's are considering asking for increased pay in the form of an addition of a COLA (cost of living adjustment) to our normal salary. Was wondering if any other PA's in the ED have these in their contracts and at what rate.

Atty as of July 2020. I planned to start a small firm with a fellow grad after school--then COVID happened. He continued forward with a solo crim def firm, and because I wanted to do business/startup law, I waited (again, COVID). I then got a job with the government (PSLF was appealing).

We gave this a lot of thought (incl. partnership agreement, business plan, etc.), and the itch is back.

Is it worth leaving the gov't and the PSLF gold handcuffs, or stay? Or should I wait for COVID to end?

Does anybody have a resource available for pricing and billing? I am 2 years out of law school, working as a corporate attorney, and wanting to go solo. Ideally, I will take my corporate client with me, but am working to build work on the side during the transition. Also, do you have any recommendations for document preparation? I would like to draft wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents, but would like a resource that has boilerplate provisions to utilize as a reference.

Saw some postings for a small/mid-firm in my field of practice targeting current solos, but they want you to come with a book of business. Anyone successfully lateral this way and if so, what’s a typical size book of business these small/mid firms are looking for?

I was offered a partnership at a small firm I used to work at before my current also small firm. We had come to terms and I expected to inform my current firm. To my surprise, my current firm made me a significant offer to stay. Not a partnership, but making more money and better benefits. Just finished my 2021 taxes as a solo attorney and I don’t know whether to be sad that my business wasn’t more profitable 1.5 years after starting or happy that my husband and I are receiving a small refund. But, I am proud I turned a profit - even if it was small. However, the first quarter of 2022 is almost at the same gross profits as all of 2021. So, that’s a definite positive.
