Best alt travel weekend from Seattle? Hawaii?
Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

Morale for non-consulting staff at Bain is about as low as it has ever been. I’d reach out to folks (use LinkedIn) to ask them to speak candidly about their experiences and where they see things headed
I’m consulting staff, but I’ll do my best to summarize what I’ve seen our functional professionals post in the Bain fishbowl:
- Chronic overwork and burnout (stress compounded by layoffs and hiring freezes)
- Career stagnation and promotion frustration leading to feeling trapped (goalposts keep moving, or promotion criteria feel unclear and subjective)
- Compensation and value perception / feeling second class (underpaid, undervalued, underappreciated, unseen, not included to things like LT offsites despite being LT)
- Trend of offshoring / structural replacement (recently building out GBS hubs in Mexico, Poland, India, etc. and backfilling functional professional turnover in those locations)
Bainies who know more, feel free to layer in what I’m missing
I did the same (took an internal role) at another firm, not at BCG. You are absolutely right in thinking that when stuff hits the fan, internal staff get hit the hardest. And I did get my share of heat. But I used that time to get my personal life in order (we had a baby), did some certifications to make myself more marketable, kept up with my network, and got my feet wet with some side business. So, when i got nixed due to staff redundancy, I already had a job in 3 months.
You do you my friend! Go with a plan and you will be fine! Good luck!

These roles tend to have more stable life, lower ceiling, less progression/money. Are you solving for a new family? Or trying to move up
