What are your goals for getting an MBA? Not all MBAs are the same, 2year full time, part-time, 1 year, executive, Target school. Benefits vary by program and tier. Higher tier schools can warrant better salaries, strong alumni network, etc. with the trade off of massive debt that may not make sense. Education wise, you can get 80% of the content at Deloitte or free online. For me it helped w switching careers w no prior business experience and a network I’ll leverage for life (and $200k loans I’ll have for life) but I wouldn’t have gotten that w a 1 year or part-time program.
Did you do that program by chance?
The answer depends on why you want to leave and what you are trying to get for the opportunity cost of 350k (120*2 salary + 110 tution). Many people do it to switch their career path.
Calculate ROI my friend, it all comes down ROI. MBAs from reputable schools come with a hefty price tag ($100k+) so you need to ensure there is ROI on the $ spent. Also depends on what you’re looking to do after, if it’s for a career change, etc.
That is the million dollar question. I’m underpaid at Deloitte so I think I need to do some job applying and see what the market thinks I’m worth.
I personally would not do it. In my opinion, you are better off getting two years of Deloitte experience than getting an MBA (not to mention that you are getting paychecks during those two years). I went back to school to get my MBA and did not see that much of an impact in my career.
I recommend talking to your coach about your compensation concerns in the hope that you get a significant raise during your next promotion or performance review. If that doesn't happen, then might be a good time to consider moving to another firm.
Thanks for the suggestions!
I always say if rather make $130k than spend $130&

What’s your base, and what area are you in?
Definitely underpaid compared to commercial, but probably on par with GPS
Are you sticking with GPS or Human Capital? I don’t think you’re underpaid for what you’re aligned to
