Hi fishes,
I interviewed with Siemens Energy for SAP ABAP position on 21st Jan. The interview went on for about an hour and in the end, the interviewer asked my expected ctc and wanted assurance if I won't negotiate on Siemens offer with some other company as i am currently serving notice period and join Siemens if provided an offer.
Till now , the HR team has not reached out to me for salary discussions and my LWD is 7th Feb. Can i expect a call or i got rejected ?Siemens

Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase

Stay put
If you are 2-3 years away from BCG Principal, that tells me you are probably a C2 now. This makes me wonder why the other firm is offering you Principal. (I’m not saying you don’t deserve it. I’m trying to actually understand what that means at the other firms.) Is it because of your previous industry experience? Is there title inflation there but you’d be doing the same work? What will you gain by going there? What will you lose? Most people only get to leave BCG once. Make sure it’s worth it.
I came from a much smaller, less known firm. There was a former Bain consultant (1.5 yr in) joined as Principal of my former firm (I think pay is similar C2 BCG = Principal former firm)... and she failed epically
But two other people who were 2 years manager at Deloitte consulting and 1 year Engagment Manager McKinsey joined at same title (but higher level higher pay, it’s a big range) became super start, moving up on career very fast
So, you are a PL who will get promoted to be a BCG Principal and not 2-3 years away from making Partner? If that is true, then a no brainer. Stay put!
Exit opportunities will be drastically better as BCG Principal, if you still want to leave at that point
Principal at BCG is not the same as Partner at BCG. Also, Principal at BCG is not the same as Principal at some other smaller firms.... it may be a literal move and the title are different and you’ll end up taking a pay cut, be lower on the totem pole and more miserable. Ask A LOT OF QUESTIONS.
@OP, it sounds like you've already done the whole team leading thing in Industry. Everyone knows how rough the PL role is. As a C2, you have solid exposure to BCG. If you left to be a Principal at a lesser firm, you'd accumulate more years of leadership experience and ownership compared to being at BCG maybe another 2-4 years.
I think if the firm you're jumping to has a good rep, and you have BCG on your resume and more years of leadership, less doors may open for you, but your added years at Principal could also open additional doors as well.
Jump as a PL2 or Principal 1. The exit opportunities are best at those levels.
