Job-Hunting reach-out to VC from previous fundraising effort for own startup
I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?

The top of mind question is:
But will they be harder to get into than Harvard?
Same standards same hiring targets for consulting staff. We don’t do cuts on talent at times like these, because that’ll screw us over in three years’ time when we need them to be workstream leads and managers ☺️
don’t worry!
I second this!

It’s still harder to get into Deloitte than MBB…right?
MBBs are more likely to accelerate attrition than to reduce hiring, meaning that if they need to reduce headcount more people will be counseled to leave before they slow down hiring too much.
Correct
Same for us. There is a lot of amazing talent out there right now, it would be dumb from our side to miss out. As Bain says, we will suffer in 4 years if we stop hiring now (you can actually see a gap in our pyramid due to covid slowdown and it’s painful for some cases without middle roles)
Nop, sorry. I don’t take referrals, counterproductive for my role 😊
So just to check in, were there any changes to the hiring rates, especially given the layoffs at McKinsey recently?
If you’re good, you’ll get an offer.
We are hiring at our usual rates, just not our rates from last year (which were higher than normal due to very high client demand)
