Have maxed out my traditional 401k. Want to invest in IRA and spoke to Fidelity but I am not eligible for Roth IRA, just traditional. Do I still invest 6k every year considering I get no tax deductions ? Any advice please ?

Look into the backdoor conversion. Contribute to the traditional IRA and convert it right away to Roth IRA. It's a purposeful and legal loophole.

Just make sure you understand pro rata rules if you have any existing traditional IRA funds (doesn't sound like it). Again, do your research. Plenty of info on this

Google (or search this bowl) backdoor Roth IRA

Google Backdoor Roth - Fidelity will even walk you through it if you ask

Call Fidelity back and tell them you want to do a backdoor and they will walk you through how to do it step by step.

Thank you everyone

I'm a foreign national with a UK work visa, normally working in London. If I end up working from home outside the UK for 80-100% of the tax year does my UK tax rate change?

Based on the Gross salary offered I have calculated the in hand salary per month would be around 152000 considering 150000 in 80C, 50000 in NPS and 200000 deductions due to home loan interest. Total tax liability is around 400000. Any other options do I have to save tax further (other than HRA, LTA)? Thanks in advance.

So investing 12K every month in market. My worry is with that rate - it will take us 12-14 months to move the extra 75-80K mentioned above. However do not want to make a bulk move. Any advise how to plan the switch. At present have 60K invested in stocks. Thanks

I’m really confused how this works because I want to try to hit the IRS maximum of $19,500 for Roth contributions this year. Maybe it’s too late in the year now, but it’s asking me to pick my desired contribution % per pay period, but I’m not sure how much to do because it says it’ll kick in 1-2 pay cycles and I don’t even know when the next pay check comes yet. Any tips would be great
