Just because you file a claim doesn’t mean you will be approved. You have to have one of the medical conditions that they have approved for benefits.
BAH1, sorry to hear that. they've got a long list of conditions posted, worth double checking for sure.
That’s not…that can’t be true.
Does anyone know if they will re-examine your entire back file if I were to file for additional benefits due to the burn pit exposure?
I had to have a full reevaluation including spinal damage, headaches, PTSD when adding hormone issues and seizures. I was 100% P&T +SMC at the time (and I still am)
Still going through the PACT Act process, as of now, after 4 trips to Iraq, 1 to Afghan, I’m at 0% for exposure.
If one filed a claim for one of the now covered items, is there backpay if one is 'approved' for a condition?
I heard on the radio that if you file before August 2023, you could get up to a year's back pay.
Yes. Check out the PACT Act for more details.
It isn’t automatic. I was given 0% for breathing issues and the decision letter stated they conceded it was service related from burn pits but denied any disability increase.
