Looking for a remote/hybrid/onsite (Calgary,Alberta) job for my boyfriend who got almost 5 years of experience in proposal writing, RFP, RFI and bid management for a civil engineering firm. He also got an MBA, non drinker, non smoker, clean driving abstract and very polite. He gave out tons of cv in indeed job posters for the past 5 months, ends up becoming the filler candidate, took a huge toll in his mental health and we are going through some very rough patches. Can anyone please kindly help?
I posted about this on another post. It is harder to get diagnosed as clearly later in life but is still doable. You can also casually explore it in discussion with a neuropsychologist. Research the ADOS and ADI which are the two diagnostic tools used. You can also research DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorders. This should help inform you. I have two children on the spectrum so I live and breathe this and the one thing I have learned is to not self-diagnose but to work with interdisciplinary professionals to understand the diagnostic profile, the therapeutic and lifestyle interventions for each ASD individual (each is unique) and that Co morbidity is common (overlapping diagnosis) like ASD with ADHD or with social anxiety or with learning disabilities and/or auditory processing disorder or sensory processing disorder. I hope this helps.
I’ve thought this. But when I tried discussing with a close friend she totally shot me down and made my feel kinda bad for bringing it up, like I was faking it or looking for attention or something 🤐 haven’t brought it up since.
I feel like introversion and aspergers can be pretty different. Like aspergers = you look at people’s faces and have no idea what emotions their expressions mean. But anxious introverts can tell when someone’s annoyed or upset! They’re just super freaked out about *causing* those emotions - but they can identify them
There are some tests out there to self diagnose, but obviously you will offend some people any time you self diagnose and try to speak for a community. If legitimacy is worth that much to you, drop money and get diagnosed by someone liscensed. Autism in general is pretty poorly understood in terms of what it looks like when you aren't a white male human, so sure there is a chance you are on the spectrum and will face doubt from others about it if female. Not related to introversion though.
And wtf is mild Aspergers. Aspergers already is high functioning Autism... And the profile for high functioning Autism in the workplace is typically NOT about looking at faces and not knowing what expressions mean for the most part-- it's about having intrinsic behaviors that are hard to adapt to fit the workplace (e.g. stress and excited responses, bluntness, etc.)
