What do you do about your house plants if both you and your SO are out of the house for an extended period? I could move some of the smaller ones to friends, but there are planters that are attached to balcony and patio. Any ideas 🐠?

I’m so scared to let a relationship that gives me anxiety go because I’m 36 F and feel like I’m not going to find anyone else. He’s not a horrible person, but he can be inconsistent. When I bring it up to him he says he’ll try harder but then always goes back to default. I stick around because I think it’s more a personality trait and not that he’s not interested in me (maybe I’m naïve). Could really use some encouragement from a bunch of strangers.

When folks at work use their kids as an excuse to go home early, miss deadlines, not come in, you name it...while you're expected to work 24/7 to get shit done.... 💥🌚😠

In my mind she was perfect in every way except for the infidelity. After 8 months of therapy and on and off dating, I got into a new relationship but I became commitment phobic & see flaws when I compare my ex to my new gf. 1yr has passed now and I still feel like I’m settling and not mad in love. Hey guys… I’m a case worker in child safety and I’m someone who loves being outdoors/dies at a desk all day. I’m hoping to organise that at least once a week I can go to a cafe and catch up on all my case notes that need to go into the system.
So far the only reason I’ve been told no is that “if you do then everyone will want to and then no one will be in the office” … how can I convince them that I work better out of the office and get this freedom & mental break for myself?

So recently my SO has been accusing me of being in control of when we are intimate (sex and cuddling). She says that every time she wants to I say no - and whenever I want to - she says yes. So it's by default doing whatever I want when I want. It's a gross exaggeration of what's happening - but does anyone ever deal with something like this? How do you say no to something like that - without your partner thinking you're just looking out for yourself or you're controlling?

My marriage is struggling and we have to pack up the kids and fake it till we make it with my in laws for most of their Christmas break. I don't want a divorce but things are not good, and it's hard to pretend they are even in front of the kids. Looking for advice I guess, or just a kind word. Really don't want the in-laws finding out and trying to put their two cents in, and neither does she.

My family mistreated me when I was younger, and now that I don’t live at home, they don’t call or bother to look for me, because frankly, I think they have a hard time admitting what happened - and will never apologize to me either. If I don’t call, or occasionally go see them during the holidays, we would never talk. Some of them are growing old (health-wise), and I’m scared this entire situation is just irreparable. Has anyone ever gone through anything similar? Any advice or thoughts?

I find it hard to keep it together at school. I was in an abusive relationship that finally lead me to emptiness and emotional trying times. I keep things bottled up about school and home.

Any tips on helping my remote bond/feel more connected with each other?

From a financial standpoint in this market, which would be a better approach in Austin -

1. Buy a ~8-850k house that meets most of our ideal criteria (size, schools, interiors etc) to stay long term

2. Buy a ~5-550k house that’s not ideal with the plan of moving into an ideal home in 4-5 years when kid is ready for school.

How easy is it to get a mortgage for the second home?

Anyone here ever been scared by some major differences in materialism with your partner? I’ve been considered “boujee” by some friends but my girlfriend of just over a year is on a whole other level. So I’m in industry from big 4, and a colleague with same yoe comes from MBB. High paying tech firm. I think I work harder and produce quality content at speed, but they can hold executive conversations that tend to impress senior stakeholders.

Big 4 produces work horses and MBB produces leaders. Also they could be a work horse too since I don’t have full visibility.
