Heard EY layoffs just started. Any truth?

Anybody else also having the layoffs anxiety already ? Any update/rumours about GL ?

For all fired this year, do you put on your background check (for a job offer) that you were discharged? Heard EY doesnt share if you were fired or resigned, so am wondering what others are putting...

If you have low utilisation are you usually fired? How does it work in consulting?

As I get older and have less of the rose tinted glasses perspective that I did coming into the industry, I've been slowly becoming more worried about the potential for layoffs (not firing). I feel like it's normal and bound to happen to most people due to factors outside of their control, whether they're at an agency, client side etc. I think this comes from a deep rooted trauma as a child where my single parent became unemployed and we were homeless for a bit. But is this a normal fear?

I was affected by layoffs about a month ago and urgently looking for a good immigration lawyer. The lawyer should be experienced in handling this 60 day grace period situation and developing alternate strategies - such as change of status to B1/B2 or applying to jobs from India. There is a lot of noise and wrong information going in the market so looking for good recommendations.

I’ve been tracking the recent tech layoffs. It’s hard too see so many talented people be affected. Has anyone seen data around the type of roles being most affected? It looks like Marketing Ops roles have been largely spared from the layoffs. What is everyone else seeing and experiencing out there? Marketing Ops has always felt relatively safe because most teams run lean anyway, but we’re living in strange times.

I make around 135 base with ~20k bonus. I’m mid twenties with a masters degree. I work in a data science role, back office regulatory function.

What's the point of this question?

We ask our candidates this and I don't really care what the answer is. It seems like we're asking the candidate to lie to us. The real answer is always unflattering.

"I would like better compensation or better working conditions"

"I was fired from my previous job"

"I don't like my manager"

"I have disagreements with management"

All terrible answers. And any "good" answers come across as fake to me.

Fish fam, need help! I work for a boutique consulting firm which isn’t doing well & we’re having layoffs soon. I knew we weren’t doing great, but this came suddenly. I’m shocked but need to act quick:

Girlfriend has very obvious high functioning anxiety and body image issues that she admits but thinks she doesn’t need therapy or medication and that reading self-help books will help her. About to graduate, looking over my options within political advocacy/gov relations positions… I have one campaign under my belt and have worked under two reps at the statehouse. Its difficult to narrow my search and find which jobs I’m eligible for. Most require 3-5 experience so I’m just applying to things in the hopes that they recognize my work during college as experience.

I've been busting my ass trying to interview prep to transition from T2 consulting (EYP, S&, LEK) to UMM / MM PE but it seems like many 🐠 are unhappy with the constant grind / no WLB... Today I called that TOP MNC (CHUBB) same. They asked me to share screenshot - I shared . Now they are asking complete offer letter of CGI but I denied as I feel this is not right to share docs.

When applying and interviewing for jobs, if you wait a long time and don’t hear anything, should you ask them for an update because other people are knocking at your door for jobs or just let them ghost you while you apply to anything/everything?
