I'm at a career crossroads and would appreciate your insights.

I have two job offers on the table: one from
Chubb and the other from Wells Fargo. The salary difference is marginal, with only a 2 lakh variance (Joining bonus).

I'm looking for feedback on the company culture,growth, and job security at both places. If you've worked at Chubb or Wells Fargo,l'd love to hear about your experiences.

Curious how compensation works for counsel at top-tier law firms. How much do counsel make? Is it relatively set/lockstep salary, or does it vary significantly based on hours? Do counsel have hours requirements?

Currently an associate at a V30 and negotiating a partnership position at another V30. What is the correct way to maximize the pay in the negotiation as a lateral partner? I’m afraid of settling at a lower price than what they can do at the top end of the range! Do I anchor by asking for an outrageous figure or let them offer a salary figure first?

Are there any fully remote lawfirms, ie you don't have to live in the state they have offices? I recently left a large lawfirm to go in-house which came with a huge paycut that is not going to be sustainable long term, but needed a remote position to be able to move. My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

I know there have been lots of posts on Herman Miller Aeron, etc. but any recommendations for an office chair that will be comfortable for long work days but not be an eyesore in the middle of my apartment? Standard office desk chair will feel out of place with surrounding decor, but more design-oriented options are basically dining chairs that will kill my back with 12-14 hour days. Help!
