Hello SALT, I currently was let go from a Senior SALT position with a large public accounting firm. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on what kind of position I could pivot to. I am hoping to find something in private accounting, and it doesn't necessarily need to be a SALT position. I'd like to see if anyone has any advice on where a SALT technical skill set would be useful or easier to transition to.

Why is it when I owe money to a state from my annual tax filings, if I don’t pay the full amount I get charged interest. But when they owe me, they ask for additional documentation and won’t pay me interest for them stonewalling me. Not much volatility y/y in earnings.

Maxed out Roth IRA contributions when I wasn't eligible for 2021 (got a salary bump mid year). Do I need to recharacterize? It's a very small account that's been open for only two years.
