I enjoyed it! It was a small office with about 14 employees and it only applied to dogs in the office. We had a weekly rotation - once a week, on Fridays, you had to sign up on the calendar the week before, you are responsible for cleaning up after your dog, and your dog had to be up-to-date on all vaccinations. Only one dog in the office at a time. The dog also had to be friendly and well behaved (no barking, tearing things up, using the bathroom in the office, etc.). If at any point the dog caused a problem, you could no longer bring the dog to the office - it was a one and done. Since we had such a small office, we tried to ensure that everyone who wanted to bring their dog could - i.e. no person could bring their dog in two Fridays in row. Also, no "excessive" breaks taking your dog for a walk - i.e. you couldn't go on an hour walk in the morning, then take an hour lunch, then an hour walk in the afternoon. You had to keep up with your workload. If not, you could not bring the dog to the office - one and done. I hope this helps!
I’m self-employed and work online with my Cavapoo by my side. However, there is an aspect of pet-friendly workplaces that frequently gets forgotten. It’s fairly common for people to have either pet allergies or genuine fears and phobias. My mum started a temp to perm job years ago and they didn’t think to mention their policy. There wasn’t even a dog there the day she started - but three had been in that week. She rapidly went downhill and the affects were so severe she couldn’t complete the day. The hiring manager was gutted because they were very excited about the hire, and it took days for my mum to recover. It stuck with me
