Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

All the comments above are true. So now you're not just in a difficult situation being on B1/B2 but the layoffs mean there are thousands of people who studied in the US, have work experience in US, and know how to navigate the US job system. These are the talents you'll be competing against.
That is to say, buckle up and research as much as possible. Submit to double the number of jobs they're submitting to and have an impressive resume. Nothing is impossible, you have to keep trying.
Not to sound overly negative, but the job market in the United States is pretty difficult at present. Hiring has slowed in the tech sector, and a lot of companies have laid people off, which means there is a lot of competition for the jobs that do become available. I don't want to tell anyone not to come to America, but be aware that things are not great, and you may be jumping into a difficult situation.
You are right about that OP. I have been looking for a new job for about six months now and haven't had any luck. It really sucks but it just seems like there aren't enough jobs to go around honestly.
A B1/B2 visa is a tourist visa, not a job visa. So unless you find a job or someone to sponsor you (very difficult) your chances are very slim. The few sponsors that are occurring are out of US education (college/ masters) or if you have a particular situation of assylum or a close relative that can sponsor you. Job sponsorships are really hard to come by. You can still try, just want to paint the picture of how difficult the immigration system is in the US.
Best states in USA for jobs are Texas, North Carolina, Georgia,Colorado .
Thank you for the response I will consider these states
Please keep in mind that a B1 visa doesn't allow you to work, so in case if you get a job, you will have to figure out with your potential employer how to handle that situation, eg. are they willing to sponsor you for H1B or not.
Also, as others said, the job market hasn't been the best in the last few years, you will be competing with thousands of people who have US degrees and experiences.
Lastly, depends on how long you plan to live in the US while you are job searching, you would need to come with decent amount of savings to support yourself while here, because you can't do any gainful employment on a B1 visa
