Do you actually have these two external offers?
MSFT or Amazon probs most recession proof due to revenue diversity.
Making manager is probs the same at msft and visa - both probs will take 2 years. Revolut is already putting me in a manager band. Also think any of the three external companies have more raw “brand equity” than Visa. Visa is a reputable company but certainly isn’t seen as tech-forward place and lacks the “oomph” on the resume for tech opportunities
What are the roles? Partnerships strategy at revolut vs associate product manager at visa vs pmm at Microsoft isn't a 1:1:1 comparison. What do you want your career trajectory to be? If you want product management, stay at visa or maybe take Microsoft. If you want a pmm path, with PM options possibly, pick Microsoft. If you want a more bizdev/strategy/operations career, pick revolut. Microsoft pmm might be the optimal choice.
Hey there! Could I ask about your experience at Visa? What was your role for the 2 YOE and how difficult was it to land MSFT specifically? (interview process?). Thinking of exiting with 2 years of tech consulting (PMO support) and 1 year of project management but no clue where to go and what to do, so your experience could really help me understand what’s out there.
It depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for something more stable and chill, I will say Microsoft. If you are looking to explore, I will say join Revolut, you can always switch in the future if it doesn’t work out.
^ agreed BCG 1
I would personally join Microsoft if I was in your position.

How is Visa for you from a culture perspective? Culture tends to roll in the backseat, but it’s critical to happiness in a job.
Solid culture and wlb - but I don’t expect msft to be very different given it’s solid rep for culture. Revolut and Amazon might be a little rough but also more opportunity for rapid career growth, which is important for me at my stage

Damn they’re really growing that Azure PMM team. Was just going to apply to a req for that lol. How are benefits? I’ve heard Microsoft benefits can be okay so would take that into consideration. IE. Mat leave and fertility benefits are super important to me but I don’t think MSFT’s is as generous as other FAANG.
I think the other thing to consider is the growth you want. Which company will provide it and are you willing to sacrifice good wlb to get it?

Good to know!
I see. Esp if you don’t want to stay in fintech long-term, it could pigeon-hole you going to another fintech company. Though you are quite young in your career so you can always make a shift. If it were me, reading your other comments and knowing this, MSFT sounds like a good move or going to Revolut, even if just for a year or two then jumping.

i am surprised so many people are keen on ms. Isn’t Amazon’s growth a lot stronger and they pay significantly more than ms?

Ya, then it depends on how aggressive do you want in your career. MS does seem like a more “mild” company culturally
Hi OP - Also interested in learning about your experience at Visa as I am interested in the company. What role are you in? How’s culture, morale, growth potential? Any particular reason why you’re thinking about leaving?
