Need some suggestions. I am a Fresher Mechanical Engineer, but I don't want to work into my core branch. As we all want a high paying job or atleast a satisfying job for our good career. Can anyone suggest me some short term professional courses which can land me a good paying job.

Is doing a Google certified project management course on Coursera is a better option? Also i am confused whether to do project management or product management. All the suggestions are welcome 😊🙏.

I have an offer to join a startup as an APM. The only downside is that the engineering team is located offshore in India. I’m concerned about the resulting impact because of 1) the potential late night calls 2) the learning opportunities missed by not working with a US engineering team (communication tactics, translatable skills) 3) potential exit opps into FAANG pm roles due to not having experience with an onshore eng team. Would any one be able to speak to this from experience or share advice

Plan to go to B-school in 3 years (1 year out of UG now). Long term goal is entrepreneurship. Have offers at a MBB firm for a generalist consultant role and at FAANG for a strategy role. FAANG offer is slightly higher (though both are a 50+% bump on my current comp). Both would have me reset to entry level. Which one should I take?

Anyone have any experiences exiting consulting to become a lawyer? I’m specifically interested in being a public defender/immigration attorney.

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. FDD/TAS Senior > Restructuring (Rx) analyst or associate (FAS/Banking) - Has anyone seen it done before? Would starting from Valuation instead of FDD be a better stepping stone to Rx banking. Also, I would imagine the best Rx banking exit would be to HL. Is FTI Rx (FAS) considered better than EY-P Restructuring consulting? How about compared to AM Rx (FAS). Thanks for any input!

I have US and Can. HR designations and about 3 yrs in HR in Canada. I'm currently in a process improvement role in healthcare, but really want to work in HR. I live rurally with literally no open HR roles close by. I may have the opportunity to work in a quality lead role with my current employer, but I plan to move back to the states in the next few years and want to stay marketable. I'm searching fervently for remote HR roles that may also offer US experience. I'd appreciate your thoughts!

Pre pandemic I was traveling 5 days a week and just used left over per diem on the one night I went out with friends at home. During covid I stayed home. Now that I’m fully vaccinated and are many of my friends they want to go out to eat/drink. During covid I moved from a LCOL to here so I’m experiencing delayed sticker shock at the prices. Any tips?

As more details surrounding the Uvalde shootings emerge, my heart just breaks. Just learned that the gunman was in the school for an hour while parents were outside frantically trying to get in to save their kids.

Also, the husband of Irma Garcia (one of the teachers who lost her life) died of a heart attack today after visiting the memorial. The couple had four kids. I can’t even imagine losing one parent to this horrific tragedy and losing the other within 48 hours.

LinkedIn is a garbage app where I can’t even post my opinion or experience because it will go against the mainstream ideologies. If I even “like” a post then I worry that my peers and managers see what I like and suddenly I need inclusivity training. What a load of shit! You can’t be who you truly are on that app. Which is why I like fishbowl so much, the anonymity is a game changer. If LinkedIn was a anonymous, we’d see a lot more support for Kanye and a lot less LGBQT material. Bet!
