Why do you want to go into consulting? Sounds like you are doing pretty good, and probably have way better wlb
I just feel so stuck. I don’t like what I’m doing and I think getting into consulting will help boost my career a bit. Also, I’m not happy with my current compensation
You don’t want to get into consulting
Why not?
The thing you need to understand is a lot of people have gone back to school for MBAs due to the job market so you will probably be graduating into a market with a surplus of new MBAs so I would not count o just having an MBA but look for something else to differenate you.
Typically depends on years of experience when joining consulting without MBA. <5 to. Years you likely will come in as an Analyst (or equivalent). 7-10 usually Associate (post-MBA equivalent). Definitely doable to join directly to as least some firms
You would likely get into a program with your experience. Use that program to network with your colleagues to find your next opportunity. I would advise you to stay out of consulting until after your program and likely all together. Consulting is 60-70hrs/wk and 2025 saw a dramatic decline in the industry. My firm cut the headcount 20%. It is a great way to find the balance between theory and practice post-mba but not a great place to try to make a career right now.
Sounds good. That makes sense. That you for your thoughts.
If your question is about level, you’d come in as a consultant / associate
I thought you asked for post mba. Probably not, but you never know. If you get in you never know
