Hey, I applied for a role with Protiviti using a referral link and I was wondering how long it typically takes to hear back from time of application? I logged in and it says “In Progress” still…really getting desperate for a job because I’m unemployed. Working really hard but times are tough. Seems like every person I reach out to (recruiters, referrals) just ignore me, but I was able to get a referral here and was hoping that I’d finally hear back instead of getting ghosted AGAIN!

Is fp&a a good exit? Feels like many look down on it

I’ve heard it’s difficult to get into Private Equity after earning an MBA, is this true? If I work as an MBB consultant for a few years on primarily PE casework after getting an MBA, what would my exit opportunities look like if PE is not an option? Would all my work with PE cases just be wasted?

Just got offered a job at a small biotech in London (UK). ~£45k plus bonus but only 1YR FTC and no equity.

Pretty sure it's a discovery role too.

I just finished my PhD at a very good uni with 3 years technician experience before that. BSc and MSc also at very good unis with good grades.

I think this offer is well below par, but curious to hear what you guys think/if you have any comparisons?

Recruiter for big tech company reached out on LinkedIn about a role. I asked about ballpark compensation numbers and they said they’re only comfortable sharing on a live call. Replied that I often receive LinkedIn offers for roles of paycuts around 30-50% so I want to make sure we’re in the same rough range. Recruiter again said she would only share via live call. Is this a red flag?

Are there recruiters who specialize in or have opportunities in non practicing attorney or jd preferred roles? I don’t want to litigate anymore but I really need help finding a non practicing role. I wonder if there are recruiters who do this.

Is it possible to find a good exit in a less populated area? I don’t want to be near a big city — I want a house and a big yard. But every single job that would be a good career move is in a big city. Do good jobs in small markets exist? How do you find them?

I’ve considered 100% remote roles, but it seems hard to progress in a career if I’m not physically present.

How long does it usually take to hear after the final interview?

I have a few questions for people in consulting roles (both external/internal).

My partner is in corporate banking, but he wants to switch to a consulting/strategy-based role. I noticed people with those jobs typically have an MBA, and also majority of the job ads in similar roles has MBA as either a requirement or preferred qualification. So:

1) does MBA actually improve someone's chance in getting those roles?
2) are there any good Canadian MBA programs you'd recommend?

How the heck can I teach a kindergartener over the computer? It's all hands on in my class for the first couple of months. I have made and bought so many manipulatives but I can't send twenty home with the kiddos. When we do go back to in person learning they want to separate my kiddoes into two groups and I have to move between the two classes to teach. I'll be hauling my stuff on a cart to each class! How do you manage keeping track of and responding to teams chats and emails in a timely manner? I have a hard time addressing chats when I am focused on something else, because I know it will completely derail me. But then I forgot to circle back to the chat when I’m done and I’ve recently been told that my response time is unacceptable and needs to improve, but I’m truly unsure how to improve.
