Hi. I’m in need of advice and encouragement. I’m currently working as a public defender(2nd year) but I would love to pursue a solo private practice. I would like to leave the public defender because I am ready to make more money and I am no longer feeling the fulfillment I once felt. I have a family and work-life balance is a priority. What is a good way to gain experience in other areas of law as a solo practitioner? What areas of law are best for maintaining a work-life balance?

Hello, I am looking to make a career change that starts at a minimum 75K salary. The economy is tough right now and I can no longer afford to stay in my current role. I have a bachelors degree in Sociology with experience in managed care, utilization management, & clinical admin.. Hey everyone - I could do with some advice. Not sure what I am doing wrong, but I am having a hard time getting interview calls. I am trying to pivot from consulting to the industry and targeting project/program management roles. I have been doing this work for 7+ years now (total YOE 12 years) so certainly have the right skillset. I have tried a couple of referrals too but that didn’t help either. Am coming from the B2B tech advanced analytics space. Have also thought about consulting IC work, since it can be very people-forward. My goal is to make my daily people-first rather than code-first. Since I like corporate and helping folks and projects grow, analytics management seems ideal.

Has anyone found roles in Big 4 or industry that allowed more work life balance when their kids were young without damaging future career trajectory? I'm a partner with young kids and feel like I'm missing out on too much of their lives. Wishful, but my dream job would have a lighter workload in terms of time and pressure for the next ~5 years, but not set me back too much (or at all) when the kids are older and tired of me in a few years and I'm ready to be back at work full force.

Any one please give me some clarity on TCS maternity policy. My wife is 5 months pregnant now and my joining date in tcs is 21- March. I'm I eligible for insurance amount for maternity expenses. If yes how much.

This is a recent incident happened to me, was interviewed for tcs, salary discussion happened on 12th March and was told to wait for final approval and was told that offer letter would be rolled out in 2 weeks. Hr did not negotiate on the CTC either. After waiting for a month i tried reaching HR they did not respond. After multiple emails they simply say that they cannot move forward due to high deviations. Guys is this normal in TCS that even after final CTC discussions ,candidates get rejectd.

In my late 20s and interviewing at mbb. I would be starting at the entry level. Im worried that I’ll be out of place + won’t be able to sustain as I move towards my early 30s. Thoughts?

In my organization, most with my role are commission based. I make a set salary due to the firm I work for as an account manager/ coordinator for clients… I coordinate their enrollments, working with each groups HR department as to benefits and payroll purposes, and schedule our benefit counselors accordingly. I am finding that in most cases where I compare the voluntary benefits industry, I might be underpaid. What is an appropriate base salary for a position in which commission is replaced?

I need help. I work in performance analytics, but leading projects surrounding privacy, consent, auditing, and a lot of things legal related. I already feel underpaid, but now I also feel like I'm being placed in charge of things above my pay scale, but maybe I'm wrong 🤷🏽‍♀️. What is the standard yearly hike in IT Security industry in North America? I have worked for 7 months in Threat Intelligence in a company in Canada, and I got a yearly hike of just 3% in my first appraisal cycle. My manager says that you get 3% when you are meeting expectations but not going above and beyond. Is this the standard or am I being underpaid? According to me, I haven't gone above and beyond every day, but there are some things I did work on exceptionally well.
