Hi all,

Last month I started as an SAE in my first creative agency, coming from the adtech side. I thought the grass would be greener on agency side but boy was I mistaken. I’m completely overwhelmed not to mention the account I’m on is under review so leadership is nowhere to be seen, I can’t even get a weekly 1:1 with my boss.

I’m the most junior person on the account team as they just released my counterpart. Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with this stressful situation?

The account is under review and leadership is nowhere to be seen? That’s a giant red flag for the entire agency you joined.

Do the best job you can do. Be upfront with your clients. You don’t have to apologize for your agency’s problems. Just do the best you can for the clients. If nothing else, you will feel better about your situation. You’ve got this!

Woof. Since the account is under review I’d start exploring options internally to join another team a
ASAP through HR. I’d also start looking externally as well.

Monday Morning rumination: unsolicited advise is criticism.

Much to reflect on with this topic. Last week I was told in a 1:1 with a new contact that I was “too direct”. After some time chewing on the conversation I was struggling to place the emotions I was feeling. Turns out I was feeling guilty and shame for being me, for taking up space. Lesson of the week: unsolicited advice is a criticism of you, a micro aggression of who you are, and being “too much”. What would you do??

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

Can’t decide between Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh city for 5 days in Vietnam. Also is it necessary to join a tour group? Thoughts?

Switching team internally competing with external candidates. was asking a promotion for next grade midpoint but was ok to accept >=50% hike which i told hiring manager before the process start itself which he said will consider if I'm the one selected.

Attended 5 rounds-- 1 coding, 2 technical, 1 managerial, 1 hr. Now after 2 months telling me I'm the selected one, but offering me just 20% hike and same grade

Any chance for negotiations? Any tips or guidance are appreciated. please help

NFW- I just had a good laugh. Earlier today I was on a video conference call reviewing a Private Label Agreement template with a larger company who wishes to brand label products we develop and manufacture. We came to a very one-sided provision and my sales VP stated “for this one, how can we just say ‘hell no’ ...nicely?” The other person on the call said we can replace the wording with just NFW (no f@$* way) and I said “I will have to add that to the defined terms section so it’s clear”
