I saw a couple thread asking similar questions but want to ask again. (Sorry) I have a valid I-797 till Oct’22 but no H1B visa. Can I travel to Puerto Rico? I understand that I can use driver’s License but what if they ask for my passport and see the expired visa, which was from my F1 status? I spoke with a recruiter recently about a position in her company and before we even began talking about the job, she asked if I needed an sponsorship, I told her no, I dont need one. But she continued to press on the subject until I had to tell her I was a US citizen. I dont know why, but the whole conversation made me extremely uncomfortable. So my question is, can recruiters ask you about your visa/immigration status even when I told her I didnt need a sponsorship??
