I have 12 yrs of work experience (NICU, L&D, OB-GYNE) in the Philippines, but I'm currently having a challenging time finding a hospital that will accept me here in the US. Currently working on my BLS, ACLS & PALS. I'm wondering if anyone here knows of any nursing job openings in Southern California that would accept a new US-RN like me? I would appreciate any advise. So I say this with complete humility and an understanding that this is a fortunate-ish situation to be in. I’m in a position where I am tied to nothing, I have no children, spouse, or house. I just accepted an offer in writing. The new job will start the background check next which I’ve been told it may take a while to complete. My start date at the new job isn’t until 2023 so there is some time for me to turn in my notice. I don’t anticipate any hiccups in the background check but is it wise to wait until the background check is complete before turning in my notice?
