MAXIMUS Inc Hi everyone. I was called last Wednesday by a recruiter for a customer service position. I start tomorrow, 11/11. Everything moved very fast and I don't quite understand the urgency, but I accepted the job. From my understanding, it is a fairly high volume of calls assisting people with their health insurance needs.....con't in replies

Interesting! Did you vet the company at all? Are you confident that it's a legitimate organization and not a scam? I'm just saying that because I have heard of a lot of weird job applications and processes lately and it does seem like there are a lot of scammers out there. So just be careful!

Yes, I have had my share of BS job posts. This is a real company and the hiring process was swift and required a lot of attention since it was such a short turn around time. I will know more in the next few days, but it's only training for about 3 weeks. Time will tell...

....With all that said, I hope I receive the proper training and support needed to do my job. I have been reading some negative comments on upper management and high turnover.

Congratulations

So far in the first day of training, some of the information isn't the same as what the 1st recruiter indicated. For example, that it was a 'project' and it sounds like they may only need us for a few months...I emailed one of the recruiters, so we will see.

This is the time of year when folks are picking out their health insurance for the following year. It makes sense that the position is for a few months. I hope for your sake, if you like it, they keep you on beyond.

Do large law firms really recieve enough applications for a position that they cannot follow up when someone reaches out to check on thier application? I get that if you have to reach out, they probably weren't interested anyways, I'm just curious why there is a practice of just leaving applicants in the wind. And also, how does one go about finding out why they were rejected, if thier qualifications are "impressive"?

Hi, I have a question in regard of applying for an internal positions within the company. I been here for 6 months and found another opportunity that I am very interested in that was just posted. I have an interview with HR but it states that if it goes to the hiring manager, it will notified my manager.
Should I tell my manager now or just until it notified my manager? I would feel stupid if the hiring manager didn't pick me
Thoughts?

Should I be worried about my skillset? Any insights would highly be appreciated. I feel stuck.
