I interviewed with 4 members of my department (executive director, two directors, and an associate director) then the VP. Took 6 weeks.
Director role I accepted:
1. 45 min panel with folks I’d be working with (an AD, Director and a SD), all about scenarios where I demonstrated their corporate values.
2. The Hiring Manager (ED) where we got into the weeds on my experience
3. 25 minute informal with the VP of the function. Think I already had the offer at this point.
All in all much easier than consulting interviews, but I was exiting to a team I had previously consulted for.
First round recruiter phone screening. Second round, 1hr zoom interview with the hiring manager. Third round, 1hr each zoom interviews with VPs from three different departments and one HR person. Fourth round 30min zoom chat with the hiring manager. In person final round with hiring manager. It took more than 2 months for the recruiter screening after I had applied online. After initial screening, it took less than 3 weeks to the offer letter.
It varies. For my first AD role, 2 round of interviews: 1st round recruiter, 2nd round two panels (4 people each). For my second AD role, 4 rounds of interviews: 1st with recruiter, 2nd with hiring manager, 3rd round with 2 panels, 4th round with hiring manager's boss. Both were quick - interviews took 2 weeks, and received verbal offer 1-2 days after final interview, offer letters within a week. But I was internal hire for both.
For me (AD position in midsize clinical stage biotech, BD role):
-Round 1: 30 min with hiring manager
-Round 2: 5 30 min interviews with broader team, 1 hour with hiring manager
-Round 3: HR call, 30 min interviews with executive team
Process was about 5 weeks from application to offer, mostly due to issues with scheduling time with exec team
Appreciate the input!
Small biotech preparing to launch first product:
1. 30 min phone interview with HR recruiter
2. 1 hr Zoom with SD (hiring manager)
3. 1 hr Zoom with VP
4. 30 min Zoom with CCO
Hiring manager called 2 references and offer was sent about a week after first interview. Small biotechs move a lot faster than big pharma.
