I’ve been working for my State Farm agency as a team member for 2 years. I am licensed in property and casualty as well as life and health, but only make $13 an hour. I technically can make bonuses but I’m not supposed to dig into a sale and I have to send it to a sales rep (I am service and retention mostly). My boss also has me running a retired agents office until a new one is chosen (its an hour away with no pay increase or mileage pay). Also, no benefits! Should I start job searching?

How much parental leave does your company offer to employees? Please include location, size of company and type of business. We are a SaaS company in NYC with 60 employees. We give 16 weeks paid for “primary caregivers “ and 6 weeks for “secondary “ caregivers. I want to advocate for everyone to get at least 12 weeks.

I recently had an initial interview for a technical recruiter position. The guy on the phone stated that this is not a 9-5 job and long hours are expected. I proceed to ask how much PTO is offered and he said that is not recommend within the first 6 months of working and the harder you work the more PTO you receive. Today I learned a new thing. One candidate was referred by a colleague of mine in the system. He got selected and offer letter rolled out.

When he checked the system he realized the referral was not taken and the background system captured it as direct hire.

So my friend is not going to get any referral incentive.

I am joining EY GDS next month. I have heard a lot about hectic work hours in EY and no work life balance. Is it true? If yes, how many hrs working should we expect in a day to be mentally prepared.
