I am attempting to get a promotion for a top retailer in the US. My boss has been begging me for months to take the shift and I have refused simply because it is fully overnight. From what I have heard, you have to have managerial experience in order to be considered for the manager position for that shift but we are going on 3 months without anyone being hired. Currently a first year staff in Risk Advisory in a Mid-Tier Firm hoping to move to Big 4 for either Risk or Cyber. When would be the most appropriate time to make the change? I heard that Senior Staff in mid-tier would most likely be hired as an “Experienced Hire” in Big 4.
