I've decided to leave public for an Accounting Manager position in private. What are the different types of companies to consider and the pros/cons? What are the best ways to get the position? I'm leaning toward GL accounting at a publicly-traded company. My background is 3.5 years audit and 2.5 years technical accounting advisory.

Debating between two offers, $105k at Deloitte or $120k at Guidehouse. Is GH worth the extra $$$ or should I go with the brand recognition of D? Both offers have already gone through negotiations.

If you start as a Program Manager, how/when do you begin to advise people as a people lead? I’ve heard Program Managers are not people leads. I started lead a team of 3 about a month ago at my current job and don’t want to lose leadership experience but have been told my YOE would map to a Program Manager level at Google.

My company went toxic in the last couple months. Chose me and started interviewing. Had a very successful interview with Amazon but recruiter is working hard trying to place me and said there’s no knowing how long to find a team. Meanwhile I just received a Director offer for a company with a 29% pay bump July 1. If Amazon or any other FAANG/large co gets back to me, is there an acceptable way to not burn bridges with new job and accept or delay start date with FAANG? Or fuck it just hop?

Need career advice. Trying to break into a finance role, preferably an Analsyt role but I have no transferable experience. I worked as a mortgage loan officer (which is sales) for 2 years after college, but since mortgage is such a niche industry, no hard skills transfer and have no relevant undergrad internships unfortunately. I know I can essentially get any sales job I want in finance IE: financial advisor etc. but don’t want to be stuck in sales forever. Any advice?

I work at an manufacturing company as a technician. My job title is a technician but they use me as an engineer as-well. There are three techs overall in the company. My boss who hired me understands what my degree is in so he uses me to design parts and write reports. The plant manager doesn’t know my skills so anytime I’m in the office working he calls me to the floor to do something the other techs can do. Should I have a talk with the boss about it? I've got 4 years at a staffing agency after getting Masters in HRM and making a complete career change in 2018. Doing full cycle recruiting and account management. I feel I'm doing very well (in the role and with comp $57 base + commission = ~$91k last year) BUT I feel stuck!! I'm feeling undervalued and unchallenged. I think I'd love corporate recruiting/TA Specialist, etc. How do I make the jump? Should I just keep truckin??

Currently at BNY Mellon with 10 YOE, specifically in Corporate Trust working CLO/CDO’s (first job out of college). I’ve moved around within the bank a few times but I’m just not happy here nor am I where I want to be in terms of comp . I’m seriously enatkng to get into an SE role and have been searching for Associate Sales Engineers that do NOT require SE experience since I’ve none. It’s proving to be difficult. Most companies for some reason are requiring 2-3 years of experience for the Associate role. 😭 Any Sales Engineers who know of companies hiring those with no experience? I am in tech as a BDR already.

Reorgs are just a part of the corporate world. If you haven’t been a part of one in your career yet, then you most likely haven’t been in the corporate workforce for very long. If you have been a part of a reorg, however, how do you personally approach it? There are many factors at play, but in general do you try to establish relationships with the individuals you know will be key contributors and/or decision makers going forward? Or do you lay low and let what ever happens be/hope for the best?
