Cheap mindset management cares more about timesheet,wfo,forceful mandatory trainings,imposing strict restrictions on laptop,access to personal docs only via vpn,no employee well being no salary hikes nth at all.90% projects filled with freshers coz they cost less.No WLB for good dedicated hard working employees as they are punished with more and more work, leaves rewards mostly for people who don’t work.But no issues kyunki job security hai 😂

I am SW PM, 12hr /day is my average for a week. Some weeks are even more but those are rare.
You’re also at Intel. When I used to work there a few people bragged about working up to 70 hours in a week. Granted that was in finance, I wonder how much of that is actually company culture thing. I don’t miss the pressure cooker environment there.
That said, 50-60 hour weeks can easily occur in PM.
Think hourly, PM doesn't make more than S&O. Also S&O imo has a slightly easier promotion path.
