Looking to exit from 195k base to a sales role base 140 + 40 in guaranteed bonus year 1 to make up for the lengthy sales cycle. I know in the long run total comp through equity and sales commission bonus can be much higher but having a hard time making the jump… mostly my ego to drop drastically in TCO the first year after spending all these years trying to increase base. So I just started a new job in sales (B2B specifically). All my life I’ve been in blue collar jobs, military, then construction work ect. Guys a big 4 company hr called and was saying in this time also they are hiring so they told to join at X package (which is lower than my current ctc ) , so i just said in hindi “chup” and cut the call. Then hr mailed me that due to my abusive behaviour they blacklist my name from their company. I am ok with it as long as they don’t tell other companies though.
